Beaches

“Knee deep in the water somewhere, got the blue sky breeze blowing wind through my hair, only worry in the world is the tide going to reach my chair” – Zac Brown Band with Jimmy Buffet

It’s not news to anyone that we love the beach. Not only do we camp there regularly here in the Pacific Northwest, but we’ve made a point of visiting great beaches wherever we travel around the world. This week, in honor of our upcoming vacation to the beaches of Puerto Vallarta, we bring you some of our favorites from near and far.

Zanzibar, a magical spot in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Add in a vibrant African culture and it doesn’t get much better.

Whitehaven Beach, Australia. So far this ranks as the best beach we’ve ever been on. Baby powder soft sand, tepid turquoise water, and perfectly preserved due to it’s protected status.

Nehalem Beach, Manzanita, Oregon. We end up camping here more often than anywhere else and love the wild Oregon coastline nestled up to a quaint beach town.

Lake Malawi. Granted, this is a lake, but the beaches that surround it are amazing and here we experienced one of the most gorgeous sunrises we’ve ever seen.

Kaikoura, New Zealand. A top five country for us. We absolutely adored our time in New Zealand and would love to call it home one day. Kaikoura, on the East Coast of the South Island is a perfect beach town. Small town charm, amazing food and wine, and baby lambs everywhere!

Fiji… amazing islands as inhabited or not as you like. Amazingly friendly locals and fantastic weather. Fiji has something for everyone.

Vietnam is beach heaven. Thousands of miles of gorgeous beaches have something for everyone. We found our heaven at a private island in Halong Bay.

Bali, Indonesia. Not the most amazing beaches in the world but the culture, people, and food make this one of our favorite destinations.

It’s only a selection of our favorite spots around the world. Don’t worry, we are beach lovers and there will be many more beach blogs to come!
