Beauty in Nature at Timothy Lake

June 9, 2013

Mist swirled above the lake, alternately framing and shrouding the fisherman’s boat. It was early morning at Timothy Lake, and the sun was trying to break through, highlighting Mt. Hood in the distance.

I will never get tired of this place. There are many spots in the region that we enjoy camping at each year but Hoodview campground on Timothy Lake is a must.  We’ve spent our last four anniversaries here and for our preferred site know that reservations made exactly six months in advance are required. Yes, site 32 is THAT popular. Sitting directly on the lake with great privacy and a full on view of Mt. Hood across the lake, days are spent fishing from camp, hiking the 13 mile trail around the lake, and admiring the view. With so many beautiful places in Oregon it is hard to name a favorite, but Timothy Lake has won our heart.

Enough said. I’ll let the pictures below reflect our weekend this year.
