Searching for Cool

After a wonderful weekend free camping with friends, followed by a scorching hot walking tour of lovely Todos Santos. We only had one thing in mind. We were searching for COOL.

Enter Pescadero Surf Camp. A mere eight miles south of Todos Santos, Jaime runs a fantastic getaway. The property is mostly made up of adorable casitas, in a varying price range depending on which one you choose as your temporary abode.

A few tents were in attendance, tucked in between date palms and casitas but, lucky for us, one of the two spaces allowed for truck campers/ vans was open. We were in! Pesacadero is not large, in fact it’s amazing how much has been made to fit in a small spot.

Open and inviting, the lush foliage immediately drew raves from me. I needed GREEN and the abundance of vegetation fit the bill. The pool was an absolute sensation. Serene, refreshing, it was exactly what we needed to cool off on the steamy afternoons.

The outdoor kitchen reminded us of many a safari camp and became the gathering spot to discuss travel plans with our fellow campers. One morning I was prepping coffee when I heard “I just saw your rig on instagram, you were camping with Sunny and Karin”. Oh, the power of the internet. Bruce, Jodi and their two lovely dogs, Rasta and Rose. We connected immediately and loved spending a couple of hours hearing how similar our travel tales were. We look forward to meeting up with them again on the Mainland.

In the end, we didn’t stay as long as might have liked, anxious to get back to the beach, but for that short period in time we found exactly what we were looking for.
