Featuring one of the most iconic skylines in the United States, Seattle, also known as the Emerald City, is beloved by many. Located scenically on Puget Sound, Seattle,a city of nearly 4 million in the metro area, offers up endless possibilities for outdoor adventure, urban sightseeing, and exceptional gastronomic options.
Everyone who visits Seattle has their favorite little slice of the city. With so many fascinating areas to explore, it is easy to choose your hotel based on your primary interests.
If you are heading into town for a U of W ball game, the Watertown Hotel ~ A Piece of Pineapple Hospitality, is for you. This boutique style hotel is a mere four blocks from the University and specializes in personable hospitality. The rooms have refrigerators, microwaves, ironing boards, internet, coffee makers, and in-room safes. Pets are welcome and, along with a shuttle to downtown, there is a pool available nearby, free bicycle use, complimentary laundry, and an on-site cafe.

To remain slightly removed from the action, all while still being conveniently located, perhaps the Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Downtown Lake Union may be your choice. With great views in all directions, Lake Union offers up a serene feel while still having easy access to the Space Needle and Pikes Place Market. The Courtyard Marriott features free Wi-Fi, a fitness center and gym, and the Regatta restaurant for a taste of Seattle while overlooking the lake.

A trio of very different downtown hotels allows you to choose your own unique style. First up, the Mayflower Park Hotel is for the history buff. You will feel as though you’ve stepped back in time to the 1920’s. Antique furnishings combine with modern amenities to create a rich feeling. A member of the Historic Hotels of America, all rooms feature Queen Anne furnishings with the original 1927 tile floors in the luxurious bathrooms. Andalucia restaurant offers up Mediterranean cuisine, and with easy access to the waterfront and sites of downtown, the Mayflower Park combines history with convenience.

Perhaps you favor the boutique hotel trend, appreciating all of the luxury touches and first class service. The Hotel Monaco Seattle, a Kimpton Hotel, is just such a hotel. From your first glimpse of the fireplace in the lobby, you will know you will be well taken care of, as will your furry friend! Pets stay for free and are even offered the use of bowls and bedding. You will be just as pleased with the 5* linens, luxury towels, and designer toiletries offered in the artfully tiled bathrooms.

Finally, I recommend the Inn at the Market, for the ultimate Seattle experience. With rooms overlooking Pike Place Market and the gorgeous waterfront, the Inn at the Market has recently renovated rooms featuring deluxe bedding and room amenities. The location can not be beat as you step out of the hotel door and into the heart of Seattle. Watch fish-mongers at the market, shop for organic produce and local crafts from the vendors, eat the freshest seafood on one of the many restaurants at the wharf, and come back for a nightcap on your street.
