This week’s foto Friday comes to you from Luang Prubang, Laos, a World Heritage Site. Touristy, yes, but you don’t have to search far to find the true pulse of the area and it is amazing!

A Timeless Journey through Rajastan, or, what happens when you’re scammed in India.
Rajastan – The name along evokes images of camel caravans, bearded desert Bedouins touting sabers, and incense soaked markets. I’ve split our story of Rajastan into four separate posts, the area is too overwhelming to be confined to just one.
We arrived in India at midnight, the unfortunate time of many international arriving flights. After two hours in the dank, decrepit Delhi airport, we had our bags and exited the airport into the chill of the night. Shocked and discombobulated by the hundreds of touts and taxi drivers vying for our attention we chose one and were off to our hotel. Or so we thought. Continue reading
We’ve Gone to the Dogs
One of our favorite things is spending time with black dog. Whether it be camping, hiking, or just hanging out, things are always best when we’re hanging out with Maddy. In May we had two big doggie events which, as expected, proved to be highly entertaining.

We’ve seen many of these majestic creatures during our time there, this handsome fellow was in the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania. (and we were close enough that this was NOT taken w/ a zoom!) Enjoy
The Difference Between the Life You Live and the Live you Choose
On our quest for a life less ordinary, we are always searching out those who inspire us, whether it be fellow travelers, authors, or even movies. We thrive on others who are CHOOSING their life, rather than following the path of least resistance.
Over the course of our journey we have received a great deal of support from friends and family, even when they didn’t understand our motivations.
We have just as often dealt with the cynicism of the majority. The naysayers who said we were crazy. The critics who “knew” all would end in tragedy. The negative voices who whispered phrases such as “this must be a mid-life crisis”. Continue reading
